Founder & General Contractor
With more than 30 years of experience in the building industry, Ken is the driving force behind Bear Roots Builders of Colorado. As a licensed and insured general contractor, Ken’s expertise spans every corner of construction—from foundations and framing to fine details and finishing work. He oversees the business with a steady, experienced hand, managing day-to-day project logistics that include lot assessment, onsite supervision, materials procurement, scheduling, and navigating Colorado’s permitting process.
Ken is known for his ability to anticipate challenges before they arise and for his unmatched commitment to quality and client communication. While he leads the business and manages project operations, he’s also the first to grab his tools and jump in on specialized projects whenever he gets the chance. His passion for craftsmanship, combined with decades of experience, ensures every project is built with integrity, precision, and care.
Chelsea Baker
Co-owner/Lead Designer
Chelsea brings heart, artistry, and a deeply intuitive design approach to Bear Roots Builders. With a background in business management and an expert-level understanding of residential design, she guides clients through the creative process—from initial floor plans all the way to luxury finishes and final touches. Her mission: to help clients envision, feel, and fall in love with their future home before it’s even built.
A skilled designer and visualizer, Chelsea is proficient in Chief Architect, creating detailed 3D models that allow clients to explore their space with clarity and confidence. Her construction background runs deep—she’s been setting tile since childhood and understands the building process from both a designer’s and a craftsperson’s perspective.
Chelsea also brings a gentle, holistic element to the company. Her love for herbalism and nature adds warmth, creativity, and a uniquely grounded perspective to every project she touches.
Together, Ken and Chelsea combine technical mastery, creative vision, and decades of Colorado experience to form the foundation of Bear Roots Builders. Their shared goal is simple:
to build meaningful spaces where families can create memories for generations.
